During and after Hurricane Irene Long Island Food Not Bombs didn't miss a moment to be of service. Together we helped tens of thousands in need of assistance.

The 2010 Long Island Food Not Bombs Holiday Toy Share was extraordinary and we’d like to thank all of our supporters for helping us make it that way. Because of your support we were able to make it a very happy holiday for thousands of children across Hempstead, and Huntington, and Farmingville!

Snowmageddon couldn’t stop Long Island Food Not Bombs this past Sunday and that’s what separates us from all those other nonprofits – we’re Solidarity, not Charity.

The 2010 Hempstead Food Share Bonanza was the largest Food Not Bombs ever and the largest vegan Thanksgiving ever!

The Hempstead Food Share Bonanza was amazing! Over 30,000 pounds of food, clothing and hot meals were distributed in just two hours. There was actually a sea of people that spanned the Train Station parking lot and the sight was simply uncanny.

For starters, thank you. Thank you, to everyone who has contributed to our school supplies drive. It’s made an enormous difference across Long Island - both to children and their parents.

We here at Long Island Food Not Bombs just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out last night for our first summertime benefit. Lulu’s Village Pub was filled with great people; volunteers and new faces interested in learning what exactly Food Not Bombs is about.

The Hempstead Thanksgiving Food Share Bonanza was indeed the largest of all time - both in the scale of people and the sheer volume of what was shared. Within half an hour 10,000’s of pounds of fresh foods made their way into the grocery bags of hundreds of people.

Saturday, November 7th was the one year anniversary of Marcelo Lucero's death. He was murdered by seven Patchogue High School Students for being of a different color. They beat him and they stabbed him during one of their weekly "beaner jumping" outings. Read thoughts about the vigil, racism in Long Island and the strength of the Lucero family.

On Sunday, August 30th Long Island Food Not Bombs shared free food and information with fellow islanders who were helping to clean up our public spaces. BiasHELP and Human Solidarity (an organization located near our Farmingville Food Share) helped organize the event.
