Support Your Community, the Thanksgiving Bonanza is only a few days away!
A torrent is growing around the Long Island Food Not Bombs Thanksgiving Bonanza and, with just a few days until our largest event ever, the question is - are you going to be a part of it?
This Sunday, Nov.21st @2pm outside the Hempstead Train Station, we’ll be organizing the largest Food Not Bombs ever! We’re expecting to share tens-of-thousands of pounds of groceries, hot meals, clothing, books and toys with thousands of people. You can find a lot more information about this event on our website. We hope you take the time to sign up and be a volunteer for these great festivities.
We’re also still looking for people to help us by sharing clothing, canned pumpkin, cranberry sauces and pasta. All of these items are greatly needed, and spending $10 on a few cans of pumpkin mix, or boxes of pasta, can make a huge divergence. Anything you collect can be dropped off at our collection bin in Urban Coffee ( 101 Broadway, Greenlawn, NY, 11740 ). You can also call our 24/7 hotline # (631.223.4370) to schedule a pickup at a time and place of your convenience.
Of course, this Sunday’s event is just one of nearly a dozen events we’re organizing across the greater Long Island area next week. You can find more information about those events – here.
Some more great tidbits of information:
1. Ryan, a volunteer at our Hempstead Food Share, put together a promotional video the upcoming Hempstead Food Share Bonanza this Sunday. Feel free to check it out below.
Hope to see you all Sunday,
